BROOKLYN BOY
21/01/2010 - 6/03/2010
Ensemble Theatre - The Ensemble Theatre's first production for the year is Brooklyn Boy, a funny, touching and heartfelt examination of family, friends and the effects of fame by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies. Eric Weiss has been trying to leave behind his Jewish background for most of his life. Moving from his home borough of Brooklyn to attend an Ivy League College he has never looked back.

A critically acclaimed, but financially unsuccessful author, his semi-autobiographical novel, Brooklyn Boy, has finally propelled him on to the New York Times bestseller list and into literary stardom. Now he's dealing with book signings, a movie producer who wants him to downplay the 'Jewish' content of his screenplay, a young fan in his hotel room who thinks that 'fiction is like so over', an estranged-wife who isn't interested in reconciliation, an old friend who wants to help him reconnect with his past and a father who can't quite acknowledge his son's success.

Director Anna Crawford Cast includes Brandon Burke, Daniel Mitchell, Lenore Smith
